senior management

Recently I was reading an article on women holding senior management postions, and I learned some facts on the percentage rates from 2007 to 2011. Women have been downgraded on jobs throughout the past few years with these senior management positions. Women currently hold 20% of senior managment positions globally, down from 24% in 2009. As stated by the Grant Thornton International Business Report. However women in Asia are still holding the largest amount of senior management postions, with Thailand leading at 45%. Female executives seem to be bearing the brunt of the economic downturn, resorting back to 2004 levels. Some buinesses need to examine their support to women to fall in line with quotas on female board representation. Of the companies who employ women in senior management postions 22% are in the financial market.
